VCFS & 22q11 Foundation Ambassador Tracy Mann 

Tracy has been a familiar face on our tv screens for over 30 years. From 'The Box' to 'Sweet & Sour' with much in between and beyond.  She's an award winning actress in mini series, feature films and on stage.  

 'I am honoured to be Ambassador of the VCFS and 22q11 Foundation.  It is an invaluable resource for families who may feel they have nowhere to turn.  I have a young friend whom I cherish with VCFS so the Foundation is close to my heart.   Raising awareness of this increasingly common and complex condition is vital and the support, care and information provided by the Foundation to families, carers, schools and educators is of immeasurable benefit.' 

Tracy is also an Ambassador for the Smile Foundation   

The SMILE Foundation is also committed to awareness to ensure that attention is brought to this much needed area which in the past has often been sadly overlooked. In Australia today there are 2,600 rare diseases affecting a staggering 1.2 Australians.

Lisa is the host of Channel Nines today Show. Lisa has been a familiar face on our TV screens and in the media for many years. 

"When VCFS came to my attention, the first thing I  thought is 'Why have I not heard about this before?' A genetic disorder that affects as many as 1 in 2000, the 2nd most  common after Down Syndrome.  It the leading genetic cause associated with cleft palate and the 2nd most common genetic cause associated with congenital heart defects. Just those major facts should have bought this syndrome into the public eye, let alone the speech, learning and immunity issues that most of the VCFS population also deal with on a daily basis. As a mother I understand the need to bring awareness to Velo Cardio Facial Syndrome. With increased awareness families can better gain access to support networks, correct medical advice and trained teachers that understand the special way that VCFS children learn and mentally develop. VCFS is a cause that I believe in - thank you for visiting the website and raising awareness.......... Lisa Wilkinson"
